This tactic seeks to portray the intangible patrimony of a neighborhood by organizing an open-air photography exhibit.
The tactic seeks to highlight the residents of Centro Alto who are considered to be part of the human treasures of the neighborhood. Exhibited are photographic portraits of the residents and students in the Ecoviandantes Brigade of the Peña Romulo D-85 School. Photographer Jorge Donoso took these portraits on March 28, during a participatory cleaning of La Cantera, which included a celebration with open-air cinema. Moreover, as part of the tactic’s realization an open photo competition was held over social networks, that brought in photos portraying Antofagasta’s heritage. The piece Colors of Antofagasta by Esther Blasé, won the open Patrimony Portrayed competition and joined the other photos in the heritage exhibit.
The exhibition was entitled We Are All La Cantera and was meant to be a reflection of a reality where many residents contribute to the transformation of their neighborhood. The effort made to build a cleaner neighborhood and recover public spaces is reflected in each of the faces portrayed. The photographs convey pride, soul, energy and dedication of a community that works daily to collectively build a clean, friendly and safe neighborhood.
